I have met transwomen before who are not on hormones, living full time. Making any kind of long term changes to your body is something that should be considered carefully before starting. There are some people who are just happy living in an appropriate role without making any changes to their body. And some who prefer to change what role they are living in. In the end, it is always a personal decision.

Regardless, here is the evidence they are both at some point on hormones.

I wouldn't pass for a chick if I didn't take hormones.

Also not to call tom a mary sue, but tab is on hormones I don't know if that means anything to any of you.

What is this I don't even?

I think you skipped some puctuation and possibly a clause somewhere there.

I apoligize for my lapse in grammar.
I was meaning to say that since tab is on hormones, it's likely that his characters would take the same path in life.

Right. Well, I would guess that would make sense to go down.

I don't see how this would be a Mary Sue trait. Slightly Author Insert-y, but Mary Sue requires more than just similarity to the creator. Well, of course Tom being the coolest thing on earth does raise the Sue-meter a bit, but the multiple focus characters redeem for that.

I said, I wasn't saying Tom was a mary sue. So we're on the same page.

I have met alot of trans women who don't want bottom surgery, I however have never met a trans woman who does not want to take hormones, and some of the ones I've met are also vegans.
Also, I doubt a doctor would consent to top surgery if she doesn't want to get hormones, most doctors would be like "Try this, you might get some decent boobs on your own" if doctors talked that way, it would be more polite though.
I also think I remember something in the ask characters anything thread saying that at some point in the future they are both on hormones.

I think some transwomen in sex work avoid hormones because it reduces your sex drive and all that, and being able to sustain an erection might be essential for their line of work.

But Charlie is not one of those... so probably hormones.

And re:not wanting bottom surgery... hi! Tongue  (Okay, I might want it; I'm not certain yet)

Er, that would just be an author avatar unless he's hyper-competant and flawless and kind of pointless.  There are lots of author avatars that aren't mary sues.

And secondly, Tab only just recently started hormones.... much after Tom's story was written.

Lots of FtMs are on hormones... that wouldn't even make Tom an author avatar so much as an average transman...

But why wasn't that in Tom's story (starting hormones) and wouldn't his voice crackyness be noticable?

He probably hasn't started hormones yet, in his story... Probably sometime after Amber's party, when he and Charlie have made friends again. So I'm betting in Charlie's story there'll be some talk of hormones and stuff. :3
